Clive Walton

Clive is the Managing Director of Servisys. He has a Diploma in Management Studies and has over 27 years experience across the broad IT spectrum. Clive has worked for the Provincial Building Society, Grattan Warehouses (catalogue mail order) and for 15 years, Provident Financial and its subsidiaries prior to becoming a consultant and contractor. He is an IT consultant with considerable experience of the Consumer Credit industry, with particular knowledge of Weekly Collected and Monthly Credit. Other areas of expertise include Helpdesk, Insurance and Mail Order. He has been involved in all stages of bespoke project development and package selection and implementation in a variety of roles up to and including Project Manager. Clive also has experience as an Account Manager for a Monthly Credit package developed and used by Provident whose principal external customer was Yorkshire Cooperatives. 

Consultancy                   

Successfully turned round a very late 350 branch customer database conversion process. 

Advised on hardware upgrade to DEC Microvax system for Insurance company. 

Supplied written witness testimony on tailored credit system package.                                  

Project Management                 

 Jointly selected and implemented Helpdesk and Service Management package. 

Led up to 12 technical developers creating database system for H. T. Greenwoods (Weekly Credit). 

Led technical development of an MIS system introduced in all H. T. Greenwood branches

Analysis / Design

Worked on a wide variety of bespoke developments large and small

Programming             

Cobol, RTM, C, Access/VBA, Basic, Plan, Filetab, Seachange, SQL, other

Testing                         

Many years experience in both small and large environments

Package Selection 

Produced business specification, prepared detailed estimates and evaluated responses

Implementation    

Liaised with software package vendors for a system to handle Monthly Credit and Banking operations. 

Selected and implemented Helpdesk and Service Management System. 

Worked on satisfying Consumer Credit Act requirements for direct debit processing in a complex insurance package. 

Supported and enhanced in-house Monthly Credit package. Converted Pensions data to new package.

 Support 

Provided support for many bespoke systems written in a variety of different languages and under various operating systems.

 Problem-Solving 

Used to investigating technical problems where it is not clear where the problem lies (hardware / software etc).

Additional SkillS

Where necessary, additional skill sets can be resourced. These may take the form of other professionals employed on a contract basis or perhaps by utilising a client's own staff should these be suitable.
